HOW TO REACH US
The main access to the Grand Tournalin refuge can be undertaken from the village of S. Jacques (journey time 2 hours and 30). After crossing the town, you reach a small bridge over the Evançon river, beyond which a sign indicates the beginning of the Alta Via n.1. The ascent proceeds through larch woods, reaching the pastures of Nana, lower Tournalin and then through meadows crossing the hairpin bends of the road that reaches the refuge.
The Grand Tournalin Hut can also be reached from Cheneil (2 hours and 30 minutes), again along the Alta Via n.1.
An alternative route starts from the hamlet of Mandriou, through the Colle di Vascoccia (2559 m a.s.l.) and then the Col di Nana (path n3-3a from Mandriou), or via Alpe Mezan, the Cortod canal and Alpe di Nana low (path n.5 from Mandriou).
